No prior knowledge or prerequisites are required. This course starts from the fundamentals and builds a comprehensive understanding of workplace safety principles.

Course Structure and Time Requirements

The course consists of 10 focused modules plus a final assessment:

  1. Why Safety Matters
  2. Safety Responsibilities
  3. Safety Essentials
  4. Hazard Classification
  5. Risk Assessment Fundamentals
  6. Physical and Mechanical Hazards
  7. Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Hazards
  8. Psychosocial and Organisational Hazards
  9. Safety Management Systems and Communication
  10. Emergency Response and Incident Management

Total Time: Approximately 5.5 hours

  • Each module: Approximately 30 minutes.
  • Final assessment: 30-60 minutes.

You can complete the course at your own pace, with the ability to pause and resume as needed. Your progress is automatically saved, allowing for flexible learning that fits your schedule.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Assessment Information

The final assessment consists of two parts:

  • Part A: Knowledge and comprehension (20 questions, 33 marks).
  • Part B: Practical application (8 hazard-related questions, 16 marks).

Pass Requirements:

  • Minimum overall score: 60% (30 marks out of 49).
  • Minimum 20 marks from Part A.
  • Minimum 10 marks from Part B.

If you don’t achieve the pass mark on your first attempt, you’ll have one opportunity for reassessment. The reassessment uses different scenarios of equal difficulty and follows the same format. If unsuccessful after two attempts, you’ll need to retake the course before attempting the assessment again.
